    Prof. Marios Politis, a Neurology & Neuroimaging Professor and Consultant Neurologist, leads the Neurodegeneration Imaging Group. His research involves clinical observations and the utilization of MR and PET imaging to investigate the pathophysiology, causes, and impacts of novel therapies in neurodegenerative disorders. With substantial experience, he has overseen various observational and interventional trials.

    Throughout his career, Prof. Politis has been honored with esteemed awards from institutions such as the Royal College of Physicians, Movement Disorder Society, European Academy of Neurology, and Society of Nuclear and Molecular Imaging. He is also a recipient of the Jon Stolk Award in Movement Disorders from the American Academy of Neurology.

    Under the leadership of Multiple Sclerosis Section Heads Olaf Stüve, Giancarlo Comi, and Klaus Schmierer, MS Debates at the 2016 event addressed topics such as the microbiome as a treatment focus, the efficacy of lifestyle interventions in managing the disease, and hematopoietic stem cell therapies.
