The Covid-19, not to be confused with a beer, is a highly transmittable viral sickness that impacts the respiratory system. It is a virus believed to have originated in the city of Wuhan in China with a death toll exceeding 100 at present.
Furthermore, the virus has spread globally and has already affected individuals on an international scale, including in the United States where five people have been placed in isolation. Compounding the issue, as the virus is new, there is currently no known vaccine for preventing the Covid-19, officially known as 2019-nCoV. Nonetheless, there are actions one can take to help hinder the further spread and contraction of the virus.
- Ensure to wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. Have a portable hand sanitizer with you and use it if soap and water are unavailable.
- Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes with unwashed hands.
- If you observe someone being unwell, keep a safe distance from them.
- If you are unwell, remain at home.
- Remember to use a tissue to cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze. Do not reuse.
- Disinfect surfaces you come into contact with on a daily basis.
